Suriya started his job career as a merchandizing manager in a garment factory and worked there for 3 years.
Suriya started her acting career in the year 1997 with the film ‘Nerruku Ner’.

Suriya’s real name is sarvanan sivakumar, Director Mani Ratnam gave him the name Suriya.
Suriya’s first salary was 1000 rupees, from which he gifted his mother a saree.
